Dimensions of organizational transformation

The Workshop at Zentrum Paul Klee in September 2024 was dedicated to understanding current challenges and organizational transformations for and within art museums.

This includes topics such as the organization of time (the different temporalities of museums from the long durée of cultural heritage to today’s speeded-up work environments); the organizational of sites and space (e.g. the physical and digital conditions and boundaries of museum organizing, the relation to local neighbourhoods and global visitor flows); and conflicts of organizing around the politics of exhibition-making, audience inclusion and exclusion, and ecological concerns).

Based on deep dives into Zentrum Paul Klee’s current concerns and practices, the participants discussed and reflected responses in terms of organizational development, and of navigating an increasingly polarized political context.
